The Ludowici City Council has two new members. Voters took to the polls Tuesday and elected Jim Fuller Jr. in District 3 and Kathy Phillips in District 4.
Fuller defeated Price Chapman by garnering 56 votes to Chapman’s 12 votes, while Phillips took 45 votes compared to Janis Goode’s 24.
Phillips is new to the government office, but Fuller previously served as the District 2 councilman. He was defeated in a past election by Mark Chesser. After the city’s redistricting earlier this year, Fuller found himself in a new district and sought the vacant council seat.
Mayor James Fuller now has a full council with Mary Hamilton in District 1, Chesser in District 2, Fuller in District 3, Phillips in District 4 and Gwen Davis in District 5.
