Winter relief efforts under way for Homeless coalition
Memorial Day Poster 2017
Socks and underwear are important items for the homeless. The Courier is among the businesses accepting donations for the Liberty Regional Homeless Coalition.

The Liberty Regional Homeless Coalition has a busy month ahead.
As part of its annual winter relief efforts, the group is holding a sock drive through Dec. 31 at various locations, including the Coastal Courier’s office at 125 South Main St., Hinesville.

Donors are asked to help by donating new children and adult socks and underwear. For other locations, email libertyhomeless@gmail.com or call Jodee at 912-876-6195.

Also on tap: a mobile food pantry sponsored by Dr. Mark Clayton will distribute 250 boxes of free food to needy families in the community beginning at 10 a.m. Dec. 16 at Coastal Oral and Maxilloficial Surgery. The food is provided by Second Harvest Food bank.

At 6 p.m., Dec. 21 at Bradwell Park, LRHC will hold its annual Memorial Day candlelight vigil to remember the homeless who lost their lives. For more information go to www.libertyhomeless.org.
