Construction crews working on the installation of sewage pipes on Dunlieve Road in Allenurst knicked a one-inch gas line, forcing closure of the road for about an hour Thursday morning.

According to Liberty County Chief Deputy Jon Long, Lt. Greg Pike reported workers knicked the line and quickly reported the incident. Police and fire trucks were on the scene within minutes, closing the road as a precautionary measure. Atlanta Gas Light Company was notified and a crew arrived within 10 minutes to make repairs. The scene was cleared and traffic back on the road within an hour.

None of the workers were injured.
