Twenty-two soldiers with Battery B, 1/76th Field Artillery, 4th Infantry Brigade Combat Team, 3rd Infantry Division conducted air-assault training Friday at Fort Stewart.
Soldiers who had never even flown in an UH-60L Blackhawk practiced loading and unloading the aircraft for typical combat operations. They also rigged an M119A2 Howitzer for sling-load operations as well as a large pallet of simulated 105mm rounds. The 1/76th FA is the only light field-artillery battalion assigned to Fort Stewart.
