Fort Stewart authorities issued a brief lockdown Monday afternoon after a shooting incident.

Shots were fired in the vicinity of Engineer Road at approximately 2:09 p.m.

Law enforcement responded and apprehended a suspect within minutes of the incident. There were no injuries involved in the incident.

Out of an abundance of caution, Fort Stewart issued a lockdown for the installation at 2:20 p.m. and lifted the lockdown at 2:32 p.m. after the threat was cleared.
