A Long County man was killed in a single vehicle accident on state route 57 near the Long/McIntosh County line shortly after 6 a.m. May 6, in the morning.
According to Georgia State Patrol Trooper, Jonathan Edwards the man, whose identification is being withheld until the family is notified, was traveling eastbound in the direction of Townsend in a Honda SUV when for some unknown reason he left the roadway plowing into the wood line. The man who is described to be in his 40’s was pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
