Family trips can mean nice, big catches

Hello, everybody. Tight Line Jr. here. Ol’ Tight Line says howdy to everyone and hopes you all are doing well.

Here are a few reports from around the Lowcountry and Coastal Empire.

Jake Horten and Shawn Branson caught the limit on trout. They usually do.

Big Joe Maley landed five nice spottail bass and four doormat flounder. He was fishing at Sunbury Marina using live shrimp.

My old friend Rob Whitney took his family out for a nice boat trip last weekend and came back with 20 trout and 10 whiting. A good time was had by all. In fact, a good time with family and friends can always be accomplished out on the river.

My Co-captain Lu Smith hit the docks and netted a 22-inch spottail bass. Man, that had to be fun!

Al Ramsey, Boo Hall and I wrapped up the dock tour this week with four croaker, two spottail bass and two sheepshead. We also caught some mullet in the net, right off the dock.

Yellow Bluff Marina has live shrimp and minnows. Elaine from the Sunbury Crab Co. and Marina said they have live shrimp and minnows. Halfmoon has live shrimp, and Big Randy at the Sunbury Country Store has fresh frozen local shrimp and squid.

I guess that about does it, so remember what Ol’ Tight Line says and get out there and go fishing. And if you do, always remember to keep a tight line.

I always say hit the docks, keep a sharp eye and watch that cork go down. It’s always a good time to wet a hook.

Your buddy,

Tight Line Jr.
