Newcomer wins two awards

Liberty Bass Club competed in Springfield on Feb. 4 and newcomer Ben O’Neal quickly made an impact landing a first place finish and the big fish award.
O’Neal landed four fish with a total weight of 8.84 pounds to earn first.
One of his catch weighed in at 5.15 for the big fish prize.
John Main earned second place, landing four fish weighing in at 4.91 pounds and newcomer Ron Welch took third place with one fish weighing in at 3.70 pounds.
The Liberty Bass Club competed Jan. 7 at Milstone Landing in Hardeeville. John Main took first place with five fish weighing in at 7.95 pounds,
Rick Hughes placed second, landing five fish weighing 6.74 pounds and Dan Whaley took home the big fish prize with a catch weighing in at 3.47 pounds.
Liberty Bass Club’s next tournament is scheduled for March 3 at Clark Hill in Augusta.
