Veterans for Peace will sponsor a vigil from noon to 3 p.m. Wednesday outside Fort Stewart's main gate at 229 Gen. Screven Way.
The event is meant to mark the fourth anniversary of the start of the Iraq War.
Kevin Benderman, a former 3rd ID soldier who refused to deploy to Iraq and ended up spending a little more than a year in a military prison for doing so, will lead the vigil.
A similar event is scheduled to take place in Savannah at 7 p.m. at The Sentient Bean, 13 E. Park St.
