Authorities are investigating a Thursday night shooting that left one man wounded.

Walthourville Police Chief Chris Reed said the man was found lying on the ground on the 100 block of Vandiver by law enforcement officers around 7:30 p.m. with a single gunshot wound to his knee. According to Reed, the victim was transported to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville and has been reported to be in stable condition.

A person of interest has been arrested and warrants are being processed for assault.

Reed said this was an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.
