Two Tattnall County Jail inmates remained at large Saturday after escaping from the jail Friday morning.
Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office’s Chief Investigator Captain Keith Keyfauver said late Friday afternoon that inmates Chad Dasher, 38, and Ray Smith, 25, escaped from the jail around 12:02 a.m. Friday.
The search lasted most of Friday and Saturday, with various local and state law-enforcement agencies assisting the sheriff’s office with the hunt. As of 3 p.m. Saturday, the TCSO still was trying to locate the two inmates.
Although Keyfauver didn’t think that Dasher and Smith were armed or dangerous, he said the public still needed to be aware, especially since Dasher has a history of breaking into homes..
Anyone with information on Dasher or Smith can call the Tattnall County Sheriff’s Office at 912-557-6778 or local law-enforcement agency.
