Facing two counts of cruelty to children, three counts of child molestation and one count of criminal attempt to cause a child pain, suspect Nicholas Lewis stood before Liberty County Superior Court Judge Paul Rose and entered a plea of not guilty during his arraignment hearing July 14.
The allegations against Lewis stem from an incident that occurred in May 2007 when he allegedly molested a female under the age of 16.
His bond was originally set at $40,000 but during two separate hearings in November 2007, it was eventually reduced to $10,000 cash or $20,000 in property.
The Liberty County grand jury indicted Lewis on all counts in February 2008 and a bench warrant was issued for his arrest after he failed to make a court appearance. Lewis was subsequently arrested and on June 1, a new bond was set at $60,000 cash or $120,000 property. He is currently in Liberty County Jail.
