Here are some recent reports filed with the Liberty County Sheriff's Office:

Aug. 23
• Simple assault — A man escorted his brother out of his Fleming Loop Road home because his brother was drunk, argumentative and threatening the man’s family.
After the complainant walked his sibling off his property, he called deputies to file a report. The brother allegedly was under the influence of alcohol and later was arrested on unrelated charges.

• Cruelty to children/ criminal negligence — A woman, who claims she soon will be divorced, complained about how her husband cared for their son. She said her husband currently has visitation rights to see their son. She said she met her soon-to-be ex at the Hinesville Police Department, where he picked up their child for the weekend, which is allowed under a court order.
The woman said her son returned to her after the weekend with a bruise on his back and dirty bare feet. She took the child to the emergency room for evaluation and also was concerned that the boy’s father had been letting him walk around barefoot on hot asphalt.
She said the father is not allowed to take the child out of state, but she wasn’t sure where they had been over the weekend. Authorities advised her to call the man’s attorney and find out where they had been. Once she had that location, the complainant was told to file a report with the agency that covers that jurisdiction, so she’d have a record of the incident.

• Unruly juvenile — An angry grandfather reportedly held down a boy he found in his granddaughters’ room with both of his granddaughters. The angry grandpa told the deputy he tried to hold the boy down until police arrived, but the juvenile broke free and ran out of the house.
