FBI sees no connection in bank robberies

According to Stephen Emmett with the Atlanta FBI, there have been no advances or arrests made in connection with The Heritage Bank robbery in Midway a few weeks ago.
“There are no updates,” he said Tuesday.
Emmett said he did check for connections between that robbery and another morning robbery at The Heritage Bank branch in Darien on Monday, but determined, based on physical descriptions of the perpetrators, that there isn’t a connection.
He said the Midway suspect is a white man who he believes acted alone. Three black men, two of whom Darien police already have in custody, are the prime suspects in the Darien robbery.
The FBI is still seeking information pertaining to the Midway robbery and can be reached at 232-3716 or 877-691-8899. The Liberty County Sheriff’s Office also is accepting information and can be reached at 876-4555.
