Firefighters battle flames at mobile home fire Friday night in Walthourville.

Fire destroyed a mobile home at McDonald Estates Mobile Home Park on Wilder Road in Walthourville on Friday evening. Four people are displaced, two adults and two children. Walthourville Police Chief Bernie Quarterman said the family is active duty military stationed at Fort Stewart.

Walthourville Fire Chief Terry Satterfield said there were no injuries reported. His department was alerted at 7 p.m.

Firefighters were still battling the blaze at 8 p.m. Fire units from Walthourville Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Liberty County Station 15 out of Gumbranch responded.

When firefighters arrived the mobile home was fully engulfed in flames. Satterfield said its too early determine the cause of the fire. The Red Cross is providing help to the family.

Donations of clothing and shoes are being sought. Call the Walthourville PD for more information.
