Recent reports to the Hinesville Police Department include:

Aug. 26
• Criminal damage to property — A Hinesville man called HPD and said his girlfriend deliberately damaged his Toyota Camry. The man told the officer he went to his girlfriend’s home to get some personal items and took a witness from his unit with him. The man and his girlfriend reportedly had a verbal argument. Before leaving with his things, he stopped to check his mail in the mailbox attached to the residence. The box fell off the wall, he said. The woman then threw the box at his car, denting the right-rear passenger door. She then kicked his car doors and keyed the trunk. The man didn’t want to press charges, but wanted the report as a matter of record.

Aug. 27
• Home invasion (first degree) — A Hinesville woman told HPD officers that two unidentified masked individuals dressed in black kicked open the door to her residence around 10:30 p.m. and slashed her face with an unknown object. When she screamed, they left the apartment and ran downstairs.
A neighbor told the officers she heard a loud thumping and then a woman screaming. She then heard someone running down the stairs and saw the victim lying on the ground, bleeding.
Another witness said he saw two men run out the back of the apartment and leave in a four-door sedan headed toward Veterans Parkway. The woman, who was taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center for treatment, told the officers she has been having an ongoing problem with her ex-boyfriend.
