May 2: Theft by taking — The Liberty County Road Department reported that diesel fuel was taken from two tractors parked at the intersection of Islands Highway and Dorchester Village Road in Midway.

The complainant said it appeared an unknown amount of diesel fuel was siphoned from the tractors while they were parked overnight from about 5 p.m. to 9 a.m., and he followed a large trail of diesel fuel into the wood line. No damage was reported.

DUI — A 48-year-old female was arrested for driving under the influence near Highway 196 West and Live Oak Church Road around 1:10 a.m. The suspect blew a reading of .177 on a breathalyzer test and was charged with driving under the influence and weaving over the roadway. A passenger in the car also was cited for an open container that reportedly had Coca-Cola and Jack Daniels.

May 3
Criminal trespass — A resident in the 100 block of Butter Blount Road in Fleming reported that a man came onto her driveway several times yelling and cursing at her. The complainant said the man has been taking pictures of her juvenile son as he gets on and off the school bus and that she feels as if he is stalking them.

Harassing text messages — A female complainant in the 90 block of Sasser Lane in Midway said she received several vulgar and sexual text messages from an 803 number. A friend of the complainant said she also received a message from the same number the previous night. When the officer called the number back, it went straight to a message about pre-paid phone services.
