Want information about the upcoming hurricane season and what you can do to be prepared?

The Liberty County Emergency Management has the meeting for you.

Set for 6 p.m. Thursday, June 29, at the Liberty County Performing Arts Center, the event will include a "great deal of information," according to Samantha Abbgy of the LCEMA.

A second meeting on the east end is also in the works.

Hurricane Matthew hit the Georgia coast on Oct. 9. Three people were killed and hundreds of thousands were without power for days as a result of the storm, the first hurricane to make landfall on the Georgia coast since 1978.
