Pedestrian killed by car identified
Lewis Crudup hit crossing Gen. Screven

A man who was struck by a vehicle shortly before 8 p.m. Wednesday at the intersection of Gen. Screven Way and South Main Street died early Thursday morning, according to Hinesville Police Department Traffic Investigator Cpl. Les Patton.
Lewis Crudup, 53, of Hinesville, was flown by Life Star to Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah, where he succumbed to blunt-force trauma and internal injuries.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Guy Isaacs, was in a 1999 Hyundai. He was headed north on Gen. Screven Way as he crossed the South Main Street intersection. According to Patton, witnesses said Isaacs had a green light, and the victim was wearing dark clothes.
Patton added that neither speed nor alcohol are factors in the accident, which is under investigation.
