Sheriff's deputy earns sergeant's stripes

Liberty County Sheriff J. Don Martin recently promoted Deputy James Caines to sergeant.

Caines has been a deputy for eight years and Martin said, “James is one of our DARE officers at Liberty Elementary, Button Gwinett and Joseph Martin Elementary. He does a great job, he loves kids, loves his job and he’s been a great asset to our force.”.
