Three people were injured Tuesday night in a single-car crash in Long County.

Georgia State Patrol Trooper Harry Middleton identified the victims as Lauria Meadows, 25, of Allenhurst, Marcus Alexander, 29, of Glennville and Shevon Ford, 19, address unknown. The men are listed in critical condition in Memorial Health University Medical Center in Savannah. They were initially taken to Liberty Regional Medical Center in Hinesville and later to the Savannah hospital.

According to Middleton, Meadows was driving a 2012 Camaro eastbound on Highway 196 near George Swindell Road NE when for unknown reasons he ran off the road and overturned shortly before 10 p.m.

Meadows who exited the vehicle was later found in a wooded area not far from the scene of the accident, Alexander and Ford had to be extricated from the vehicle by members of the Ludowici/Long County Volunteer Rescue and Fire Department.

The road was closed for several hours as investigators attempted to determine what caused the wreck.
