Riles named chair of CGMAC

Hinesville Mayor Karl Riles

The Coastal Georgia Military Affairs Coalition (CGMAC) announces that City of Hinesville Mayor Karl Riles has been elected chairman of the board.

Mayor Riles will serve to guide CGMAC toward achieving its mission and is charged with the accomplishment of the goals and objectives of the organization.

Mayor Riles is a native of Hinesville, prior to his election as mayor, he was city council member for the 5th District. He attended Bradwell Institute and went on to attend the University of Georgia and Armstrong State University.

Upon graduation, he returned to Hinesville, and he currently owns a tax preparation business.

“I am very honored to serve as the chairman for the Coastal Georgia Military Affairs Coalition and look forward to this new opportunity to support our military communities in Coastal Georgia,” said Mayor Riles.

Incorporated in 1999, as the Friends of Fort Stewart and Liberty County, the organization reorganized as the Coastal Georgia Military Affairs Coalition in 2019.

The mission is to enhance the overall economic value of Fort Stewart/ Hunter Army Airfield and the surrounding communities through a progressive regional partnership.
