Letter to the editor: Coalition drive exceeds expectations
Letter to the Editor generic

Dear editor:

We have completed our third annual Homeless Student School Clothing Drive, and it has far exceeded our expectations.  Overall, we collected an estimated 50K in dollar value of clothing, and an estimated 10K in back packs with school supplies and care packs, which were delivered on Saturday, to the Liberty County Schools.

It took 11 volunteers 9 hours to partially complete the sorting, we have about 40 more bags and boxes that will be addressed at a later date.  We will start distribution of the clothing later this week.  All uniforms will be distributed to the Liberty County Schools, the regular clothing will be distributed to Long, McIntosh, Wayne, and Tattnall counties.

I want to thank everyone who came out for the clothing drive and made it a great success.  I especially want to commend our Vice President, Temperance West, and her family, who worked so hard this past month, delivering and collecting material for the drive.
