Why do teachers have to be considered highly qualified but administrators don’t?

Congrats to Councilwoman Reid for winning another 4 year council term. You are doing good work for our City. Also congrats to Councilmen Riles, Floyd, Jenkins, Councilwoman Nelson and Mayor Brown. Looking forward to good things in the next 4 years.

I think I captured a Pokemon with a crack pipe in my back yard.

Congratulations to Mayor Brown!! You have won yourself another four year term.

You have no competition....

Dear Parents,

Riding the school bus is a privilege, not a right.  It is your responsibility to make sure your kid is not putting him/herself or others in danger with his/her poor behavioral choices.  I keep my kid in check every day and I am damn SURE that he is being respectful, responsible, and aware of others.  And if he isn’t, I take care of it immediately and not pass the blame on someone else. Schools (Long and Liberty) need to start contacting parents and making it inconvenient.  I should not have to worry about my kid’s physical and emotional safety on a school bus!   Get it together, parents, and actively parent!  And drivers?  Start writing these kids up!

Running tax sale legal advertising in your Sound Off column is certainly a creative approach.

The GOP forgets what they did in the Benghazi hearings. But that was ok now that the shoe is on a different foot it is wrong.  History shows us the facts- read it.

As a Trump supporter I am starting to lose the faith.  I went to California to see where the new wall is being built-- Donald Trump spoke about it saying how grand it was.  I only found the repair work- NOTHING new was there. I am beginning to think he LIES.  Guess I will have to vote for someone else.

I think that Long County’s police department and the sheriffs need a lesson on management and how to be nice to people. Treat people with a little respect.  They may have done something wrong, but they’re not animals. They’re being mean rude and just mean!

I just left the nail shop on 84 and I want to leave a message to all of the nail shops. There seems to be an element where African Americans are not treated as fairly as white customers or Hispanic customers. I was there for two hours and two customers, one white, one Hispanic were in the seat to get their nails repaired before I was. Clearly unfair. Customers may not always understand the language that is used but we also understand the innuendo and the looks and in some languages, some words simply don’t translate. We want to get our nails done. Our money is just as good as any other race of people. We simply just want fair treatment.
