10 Tide seniors sign collegiate letters of intent

The Long County Blue Tide celebrated their student-athletes moving on to the college ranks as they held their third annual college signing ceremony on Tuesday, May 12.

Ten Blue Tide athletes signed to continue their careers at the collegiate level with almost every sport represented. Each athlete was presented by Athletic Director Reggie Wilkes and each of their individual coaches spoke about their performances on the field.

Signing scholarships were Jeh’Miel Pettis, who signed to play baseball with Paine College, Zyi’Air Holt, who signed with South Georgia State College to play basketball, Tyler Gamble and Cortney Charles, who both signed with Lawrence University to play football - Charles also will throw discus for the Vikings’ track and field team - Navey Johnson and Trevor Kuchar, who both signed with LaGrange College to run track - Kuchar will also run cross country for the Panthers - Amire Saunders, who signed to run track for Mercer University, Aleena Clark, who signed with Brewton Parker Christian University to wrestle, and Trinity Mook, who signed with McKendree University to join their powerlifting team.
