The St. James Coastal Crew Rebels took second at the James Island Shootout last weekend in South Carolina. The victory earned them a bid for the national tournament in July in Orlando.

"The boys worked very hard to acquire second place," assistant coach Dana Portley said. "The boys played four games that Saturday. They played as a team and won as a team."

Portley said the second-place finish should serve as an indicator of how well the team will perform this season.

The 14U Rebels will head back to South Carolina in June for another tournament in Florence.

The 2009 AAU National Tournament is July 24-30 at Disney’s Wide World of Sports Complex.
