FULTON, Miss. — Itawamba Community College sophomore forward Ky’Leo Worriels will continue her academic and athletic career at Point University, according to an announcement on the ICC athletics website. 

The Hinesville native spent the past two seasons at ICC, where she helped win 28 games and earn two National Junior College Athletic Association Region 23 Tournament berths. 

During the 2021–22 season, Worriels started 20 of the 25 games she played in and averaged 8.5 points and six rebounds per game while shooting 44.3 percent from the floor. She also had 20 blocks, 19 steals and 12 assists on the year. On Jan. 24, 2022, she pulled down a career- high 16 rebounds against Meridian Community College, and five days later had a career- high five blocks against Pearl River Community College. 

Worriels scored a career-high 19 points against Copiah- Lincoln Community College on Feb. 7 as she shot eight of 14 from the field and made all three of her free throw attempts. During her freshman campaign (2020–21), she played in 16 games and drew two starts. Worriels ended the season averaging 5.9 points and 5.5 rebounds per contest while shooting 46.5 percent from the floor. Her best game came against Mississippi Delta College, when she posted a double-double with 11 points and 12 rebounds.

The 6-foot-2 Worriels will join the Skyhawks, who compete in the Appalachian Athletic Conference and are coming off a 24-7 season. Point University is an NAIA school located in West Point, Georgia.
