UPDATE

Union Gorve won game one 7-0 and won game two 8-0, knocking the Lady Tigers out of the competition.

Bradwell’s Lady Tiger softball team lost to the Camden Wildcats, 5-0 and 14-2, during a tough double-header last Thursday. However, BI’s 6-9 overall and 5-5 Region 3-AAAAA records were enough to maintain the No. 3 spot and advance the squad to the first round of playoffs.

According to Lady Tiger coach Sharyl Eastlake, the game against the Wildcats went well, despite the loss.

"They are a very good team and deserve to be No. 1 in the region," she said. "They have a strong pitcher, strong defense and every player can hit the ball to the fence."

Eastlake said her team played well. Tiara Howard and Candace Blair were able to reach and hit. In game two, Karson Rogers earned two RBIs. Rogers pitched the first game against the Wildcats and Barbara Rego pitched game two.

Yesterday, the girls traveled to Union Grove to
take on the Wolverines, who are No. 1 in Region 2-AAAAA. Union Grove is 7-0 in their region and 21-7-2 overall.

The Lady Tigers were scheduled to face the Wolverines in a double-header. If they won at least one game, they advanced and play again today.

The Courier will post the scores as they become available and will bring you the coach’s comments and full results in an upcoming edition.
