Bradwell Institute’s basketball teams split games with Richmond Hill Wednesday night in the semifinals of the Region 2-AAAAAA tournament in Brunswick.

Despite having beat the Wildcats twice during the regular season, the Tigers lost a one-point squeaker Wednesday. Richmond Hill is assured of hosting in the first round of the state tournament after the 61-60 win.

The Wildcats play at 8 p.m. Friday against host Brunswick for the region championship. The top two seeds in the region get to host in the first round of the state tournament, which begins next weekend, while the third and fourth seeds in each region go on the road.

The Tigers had beaten Richmond Hill twice during the regular season, including a 62-60 overtime win on Jan. 12.

Bradwell will play Effingham at 5 p.m. Friday on the consolation game.

The Lady Tigers beat the Lady Wildcats 54-38 in Wednesday’s opener.

Bradwell will face Glynn Academy at 6:30 p.m. Friday in the championship game.
