The Bradwell Institute track team will host its first Tiger Run 5K run/walk at 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 13.
Lady Tiger track coach Sheron Daniel said the fundraiser will assist the girls’ and boys’ track teams this upcoming season. Money raised will help defray the cost of traveling to and from meets.
Registration is under way. The fee is $15 for kids 12 and younger and $25 for ages 13 and older. Registrations received by Nov. 29 will get a free-T-shirt. Deadline for registration is Dec. 1.

Online applications are subject to a $2.50 surcharge.

Race-day registration will begin at 7 a.m. on Midway Street adjacent to the old courthouse in downtown Hinesville.
Prizes will be awarded to first- and second-place overall winners, as well as within specific age groups.

Hurricanes holding tryouts Saturday

The Hinesville Hurricanes, a semi-professional football team, is hosting tryouts from 10 a.m.-noon Saturday at 296 Live Oak Church Road in Hinesville. Each player must pay the one-time league-registration fee of $125. For more information, call 912-269-0830 or 912-977-4375.

Savannah Storm free agent tryouts

The Savannah Storm, an expansion franchise of the American Basketball Association, will host tryouts to fill in open roster spots for the upcoming season. Tryouts are set for Dec. 7 and Dec. 14 from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. at the Tompkins Center, 2319 Ogeechee Road. There is a $50 registration fee and registration starts promptly at 8:30 a.m. Potential players must bring their driver’s license.
