FPCA boys, Bradwell squads hit road

First Presbyterian Christian Academy and Bradwell Institute were on the road this weekend for basketball games.

Friday night, the FPCA boys were in Stillmore taking on David Emanuel Academy.
The Highlanders won 89-46.

On Saturday, the FPCA boys played at Royal Live Oak Academy in Hardeeville, South Carolina, and won 84-33.

The Bradwell teams were at Camden County on Saturday, where the boys and girls both suffered losses. The Lady Tigers lost 45-30 and are 8-8 overall and 1-5 in Region 3-AAAAA. The boys lost 77-41 and are 5-10 overall and 1-5 in region play.

Box-score stats for the Tiger teams were not available by press time.

The Tigers were set to host Glynn Academy on Tuesday for region action and will play at Coffee on Friday beginning at 6 p.m.

The FPCA boys entered the new year with a full head of steam, winning their last two games by wide margins.

The boys saw the return of Khan Weekley to the court as well as former Bradwell player George Mitchell, who recently transferred back to FPCA.

At DEA Friday night, it was Isaiah Scott, however, who continued to run up the points. Scott had 23 points, including two three-pointers, in the matchup.

Simon Steele sank four treys en route to 20 points in the game. Weekley added 18, also with four treys; Mitchell scored 11 and John Killough added 10 for the double-digit guys.

Saturday, it was Weekley who led in points, with 22 with one three-pointer. Scott added 18, Mitchell had 15 and Steele added
11 points for the double-digit scorers.

FPCA will host Coastal Home School on Thursday beginning at 6 p.m.

The Highlanders will host Citizens Christian Academy on Friday beginning at 6 p.m.
