First Presbyterian Christian Academy will finish the season on the road with games out of Hinesville the next two Fridays.
The Highlanders will be in Lyons this Friday to play Toombs Christian Academy in a Georgia Independent School Association Region 2-AA game. On Halloween night, they will be in Stillmore to face David Emanuel Academy.
FPCA is coming off a 60-12 loss to last year’s Class AA champs, Memorial Day. Highlanders coach Terry Middleton knew it would be a difficult task having to go against the Matadors without Nasmeek Murphy, his top tackler, who still was recovering from an injury sustained Oct. 3 against Southwest Georgia Academy. But FPCA scored a touchdown in the second quarter to avoid a halftime shutout. The Highlanders found the end zone again in the fourth quarter.
Finishing the season on the road will be a tall task, but FPCA already has cleared one big hurdle this year — getting their first win in program’s history.
