FPCA squads ready for action

First Presbyterian Christian Academy’s basketball teams return to action this week after taking some time off for the holidays.
The Lady Highlanders will hit the court Friday to host a Georgia Independent School Association Region 2-AA game against David Emanuel Academy. Tip-off is 6:30 p.m.
FPCA’s young girls’ squad is seeking its first win of the season and is 0-5.
In recent action, the Lady ’Landers fell to Appling Christian, 68-35, on Dec. 9.
On Dec. 19, just before their break, they lost to South Effingham, 45-31. It was the smallest margin of loss to date against a well-established team.
The FPCA boys’ team, which is 4-1 to date, has a huge rivalry game at 7:15 p.m. Thursday at Bethesda Academy in Savannah.
The Highlanders have blown out most opponents this season, winning by as little as 24 points and by as much as 52 points.
Their biggest challenge came during the Cancer vs. Coaches Tournament, where they lost to Faith Baptist Christian Academy of Ludowici, 57-56, on a free throw with 0.1 second left.
