LCHS teams win against Tattnall

The Liberty County Panthers basketball teams went 6-0 and 5-1 on Friday in Reidsville. The boys squad defeated Tattnall 76-57, and the girls beat the Lady Battle Creek Warriors 72-57.

Panther Rion Brown’s 32 points helped the boys remain undefeated, and Jordan McRae and Tucory Rhodes sank 17 and 11, respectively, to lead the Panthers in scoring.

For the girls, Kourtney Alexander and Miata Askew knocked in 28 and 14, and sophomore Diamone Johnson scored 20 points.

The Panthers will play Beach High at 6 p.m. Tuesday in Savannah, and on Friday, LCHS hosts local rival Long County.

In other basketball news, coach Warren Way reported his Midway Middle School girls are 2-0 after defeating Lewis Frasier 28-16 on Nov. 19 and beating Snelson-Golden Middle School 45-25 on Dec. 3.
