Liberty County wins region
Lady Panthers and Lady Tigers finish 4th

The Liberty County High School boys varsity team defeated Tattnall County High in the Region 2-AAA basketball tournament finals with a final score of 72 to 63. This is the third straight region tournament Liberty County won and the second straight region championship for head coach Julian Stokes. The region win secures a home state playoff game for the Panthers.

The Lady Panthers and the Lady Tigers of Bradwell Institute High School finished fourth in their respective region tournaments. Liberty County girls lost to Pierce County in the Region 2-AAA girls semifinals on Thursday and the third place game against Long County on Friday, while Bradwell lost to Glynn Academy in the Region 2-AAAAAA girls basketball tournament on Wednesday and lost to Richmond Hill by three in the third place game.

All three teams now await for the GHSA State Playoff brackets to be released to see where they will be seeded.
