Liberty County High School is off to a 2-0 start in region 2-AAA after playing two games this past week. The Panther boys played Tattnall County last Tuesday winning 44-20. Saturday the Liberty team was on the road again. They played at Appling County winning 26-7.

Senior Panther quarterback Jaalon Frazier was 9 of 17 for 190 passing yards and two touchdowns. Frazier also led the team in rushing yards with 132 yards.

Running back Elisha Polite rushed for 80 yards and a touchdown. Polite also had 3 receptions for 57 yards and two touchdowns. Kris Coleman rushed for 79 yards and one touchdown.

Panther safety Richard LeCounte led the defense with 10 total tackles in the game. He also had 2 receptions for 64 yards.

The victory gives the Panther team a 2-0 start in region play. Friday night they host Long County in a region matchup. It will be the first time these two teams face off in a football game.

Long County is 1-3-2 overall and 0-2 in region play. Liberty is 6-1 overall.
