Long County High School opens its 2012 football season tonight against Lanier County High School at Veterans Stadium in Ludowici. Kickoff is at 7:30.
The Blue Tide is coming off a 42-6 scrimmage win over Montgomery County. But Long County is 0-2 against the Bulldogs. The last time the two teams met was in 2003 when the Blue Tide football program was still in the early stages.
The Tide will hope to keep momentum from last week, when they held the Eagles scoreless until the last play of the game while also scoring on five of their first seven possessions.
