For the third year in a row, Bradwell Institute’s Quintunya Chapman was named the Savannah Morning News’ Female Athlete of the Year.
Chapman, who signed to run track for the University of Georgia Bulldogs, has dominated track and field events during her four-year career as a Lady Tigers runner.
At this year’s state meet, Chapman took first in the long jump and placed seventh in the 200-meter dash. Her jump of 19 feet, 1 1⁄4 inches in the region tournament in April has her ranked No. 2 in the state. Nationally, she is ranked 37th in the long jump. Chapman is ranked 13th in the state in the 400.
