Eagles fall in OT at Miami; Brown has 15

Georgia Southern forced overtime after trailing Miami by double digits in the second half Monday, but eventually fell, 81-80, in Coral Gables, Fla.
According to gseagles.com, Hurricanes freshman Manu Lecomte hit two free throws with nine seconds left in overtime for the winning margin. Jelani Hewitt, who led GSU (1-1) with 27 points, missed a shot at the buzzer.
Midway native Rion Brown had 15 points, seven rebounds and four assists for Miami.
GSU hosts Toccoa Falls at 8 p.m. Saturday.

GSU wins home finale
The Eagles’ football team won its home finale by beating Western Carolina, 35-19, Saturday, according to gseagles.com. GSU (5-4 overall, 3-4 in Southern Conference) plays at Elon (2-8, 1-5) at
3 p.m. Saturday.
