Liberty County High School held off a third quarter run by the Bradwell Tigers to win 35-17 in the regular season opener held at Donell Woods Stadium Friday night.

Immediately following the game Liberty County Commission Chairman Donald Lovette presented the Commissioner's Cup trophy to Panther head coach Kirk Warner. The Panther coach said he waited 12 long years for this moment.

First Presbyterian Christian Academy was in Savannah where the small roster of 11 iron-man players stayed in the battle trailing 20-13 at the half. But with a host of bench players the Blazers managed to pull ahead during the second half of regulation winning 48-21.

Long County was in Lanier County where the Blue Tide earned a 16-12 win.
