Smiley golf tourney set

The fifth annual John E. Smiley Memorial Golf Tournament is scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at the Cherokee Rose Country Club in Hinesville. Entry costs $50 per person. The format is a four-person scramble. Registration begins at 8 a.m. with a shotgun start at 9 a.m. This year’s tournament will benefit Micah Smiley, 6, who has been diagnosed with lymphoblastic T-cell lymphoma. Panthers need equipment

The Liberty County High School Lady Panthers need new and used softball gloves and bats. Anyone wishing to donate can drop off items at the school’s front office.
