Eighth-grade basketball tourney
The St. James Coastal Crew Rebels eighth-grade basketball team will host other area eighth-grade teams for an evening of basketball, beginning at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, March 28. Admission is $5 for adults, $3 for kids.
Here is the schedule:
5:30 p.m.  — Scott’s All*Stars vs. Liberty Blazers
6:30 p.m. — Elite Rebels vs. Southeast Georgia Shooters
7:30 p.m. — Blazers vs. Rebels eighth white team

Golf tournament to fight cancer
The second Battlefighters Golf Tournament will start at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 30, at Cherokee Rose Golf Course.
All proceeds will benefit the Liberty County Relay for Life.
First prize is $200, second prize is $150 and third prize is $100. Door prizes will be given away.
The first golfer to hit a hole-in-one on No. 3 will win a 2013 Impala from Mike Reed Chevrolet. A meal will be served at the end of play.
Cost to enter is $50 for an individual and $200 for a team. Hole sponsorship is $100.
