Panther boys take down Tattnall County

Liberty County High School boys’ basketball team improved to 9-1 overall with a 62-51 win Saturday at Tattnall County High School in Reidsville.

Panther guard Davion Mitchell knocked in 20 points, Will Richardson scored in 12 and Jishaun Harris added 11 for the double digit scorers. Mitchell had a double-double with 11 assists as well.

Liberty was 17-of-24 from the line.

The Panthers are scheduled to host Statesboro Tuesday starting at 6 p.m., and will open Region 3-AAAA action Friday hosting Burke County. The girls tip-off first at 7 p.m.

Bradwell Institute’s basketball teams were in Darien Saturday afternoon where the girls and boys took wins on the hardwood court.

The Lady Tigers beat McIntosh County Academy 50-37. The Tiger boys won 46-30.

The girls are 8-6 overall and 1-3 in Region 3-AAAAA. The Bradwell boys are 5-8 overall and 1-3 in region action.

The Tiger teams will host Brunswick Friday in region games. The Lady Tigers tip-off at 7 p.m.
