Liberty County Panthers Ben Floyd and Cassie Standard helped their respective boys and girls golf teams take firsts in the opening meet at the Cherokee Golf and Country Club in Hinesville Monday afternoon.

Floyd shot a 45 and Standard shot a 46.

The Lady Panthers took first with a score of 94. Opponent Evans County scored 107 and Bradwell Institute’s only girl golfer, Taylor Reese, scored a 56. Because she is the lone Lady Tiger golfer there was no team score.

The Panthers boys won with a score of 193. Evans County and Bradwell took second and third, respectively with scores of 213 and 218.

The Panthers and Tiger were set to tee off again Thursday at 2:45 p.m. at Cherokee Rose against Long County.
