After completing his first season as the new baseball coach of the Liberty County Panthers, David Samuel has put together a summer league squad comprised primarily of Panthers players.

Samuel took the Panthers to the first round of playoffs after posting a 7-5 overall and a 13-12 Region 3-AAA season.

The team is scheduled to play eight double-headers, five innings per game.

Game one opens tonight at 5 at home as they take on a squad from Long County.

Also Samuel said the players and coaches will be assisting the Liberty County Recreation Department with summer baseball camps.

Camps run in two sessions.

The first session is for small children and is 9-11:30 a.m. June 1-4.

The second will be from 9-11:30 a.m. June 8-11 and is scheduled for older kids.

Samuel said all his LCHS Panther players are needed at the camp. He asks players to dress in their baseball uniforms. Players and participants should bring their baseball equipment and be ready to play.
