Scott’s All*Stars recently had their annual camp June 27-30 at the Riceboro Youth Center. The camp was organized through the Liberty County Recreation Department and taught by Marcus Scott IV.

The All*Stars founder and coach said the camp, which featured participants ages 7-17, focused on teaching the fundamentals of basketball.
“We had roughly 25 kids during the four-day camp,” Scott said.
Scott’s All*Stars’ players participated and helped teach younger players.

“The annual camp is always an excellent time to give back to the community,” Scott said. “It teaches kids the basics of basketball, while teaching our players the importance of leadership and giving back to the community. It is also important that we host the camp on the east end of the county because many times some parents are not able or do not get off work in time to make it to Hinesville, and most events during the summer are in Hinesville.”

Scott said the kids learned a lot about basketball. Afterward, parents were allowed to watch their children play two games. The teams were made up of campers mixed in with the Scott’s All*Stars.
