Former Bradwell Institute football player David Spaulding tweeted he was transferring from Georgia Southern University to the University of South Carolina Gamecocks.

At noon Jan. 7, Spaulding tweeted, “COMMITTED.” And also “There is nothing impossible with God!”

For the Eagles last season Spaulding played in eight games and saw action on 59 total snaps (45 on defense, 14 on special teams). He recorded seven tackles on the season along with a pass break up and an interception, according to the GSU Athletic website.

During the 2019-2020 season Spaulding was redshirted and didn’t see any action.

At BI he had 43 tackles and a pair of interceptions as a senior and caught 20 passes for 318 yards and a pair of scores

Spaulding was an All-Region 2-6A first-team selection and rated as the No. 86 cornerback in the country and the No. 90 player in the state of Georgia by 247Sports.  He was ranked the No. 104 player in the state by Rivals.
