Safe Kids Savannah Youth Triathlon set
The second annual Safe Kids Savannah Youth Triathlon will be at 8 a.m. Saturday. Registration is open for the swim, bike and run event geared toward youth ages 7-15. To register, go to www.runsignup.com and click on the “Race” tab at the top of the page. Registration forms also are available at Fleet Feet Sports at 3405 Waters Ave. and at the Chatham County Aquatic Center on Sallie Mood Drive.
The triathlon will take place in and around the Chatham County Aquatic Center and Lake Mayer. Additional information can be found at www.safekidssavannah.org. For specific questions regarding the triathlon, contact the race director at cjchasta@chathamcounty.org.
Rotary Club to host fishing tournament
The Hinesville Rotary Club is hosting a red fish and trout fishing tournament Sept. 20. The captains’ meeting will be at
7 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Sunbury Crab Company, with the tournament weigh-in at 3 p.m. the following day. There will be separate payouts for red fish and trout categories. First place in each category receives $1,000. Second place receives $500, and third place receives $250. There also will be a first-place trophy given in the female and junior category. Youth bowling planned
The Fort Stewart Youth Bowling league will accept registrations for bowlers ages 3-18 (21 if enrolled in college) from 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Sept. 6, at Marne Lanes on Fort Stewart. Participants must be at Marne Lanes on registration day to ensure placement on a team. The league starts at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 13. For more information, call 369-8384, 977-2015 or 767-4866.
