In a game as intense as the Tigers coach, Bradwell lost by four points against the top seeded Beach High Bulldogs Tuesday.
Both teams kept the points coming strong and the Tigers led for most of the game, but in the end the bulldogs pulled ahead by four to get the win. Deon Villascencio (no. 11) led the offense with 18 points, followed by Dana King (no. 20) with 12, Justine Monroe (no. 15) scored nine points, all from the three-point line.
With 2:40 left in the third period the Tigers had a 40-26 lead against Beach. With seven seconds left in the third period the bulldogs had brought the game within four points.
Each team kicked up the offense and the game was tied 42-42 with 5:28 left in the fourth period.
Markeith Cummings put 20 points on the board for Beach to lead their offense.
“Our team played about as well as we can against a team that has a lot of size,” BI coach David Jones said. “We made a few mistakes and they took advantage of it. It’s hard to hold a team like that for 32 minutes, but our kids played extremely well.”
The Tigers will host their last home game against Johnson High tonight at 8:30.
“It’s senior’s night for us and we are jacked up and ready to play,” Jones said.
