Former Bradwell Institute and Georgia State University football player Ulrick John got his first National Football League start Sunday.
The Arizona Cardinal left tackle got his start against the host Atlanta Falcons.

The Hinesville native was the first resident of Liberty County to be drafted by the NFL. He was the 232nd pick in the 2014 draft going to the Indianapolis Colts.

John played in one preseason game for the Colts against the New York Jets and suffered a broken ankle.
In 2015 John was on the Colts’ practice squad when he was picked up by the Miami Dolphins. John played in two games for the Dolphins that season. At the start of this season John was picked up by the Cardinals off the Dolphins’ practice squad.

Atlanta won Sunday’s game, 38-19.
